As One Door Closes Another Door Opens: Looking ahead to 2020

As we near the end of another year, we start to look back on 2019 and realise what a busy and interesting year it has been. We have worked on more projects than ever and it's been exciting to work with our existing clients as well as welcoming new clients and their variety of projects and to submerge ourselves in their messaging.

We’re already looking ahead to 2020 and new projects kicking off in the New Year. With only three weeks to go until the Christmas break, we are working harder than ever to make sure we are still driving good outcomes and delivering the results that our clients are expecting.

One of our existing clients OneStream Software - who specialise in a Unified Platform for Corporate Performance Management recently spoke to us about working with the team.

After spending 14 months working with NextCall, and specifically Nikki Brooks, I cannot recommend them highly enough. The attention to detail and in depth feedback on calls and engagements is exceptional and has greatly helped me in multiple sales cycles. Nurturing the contacts and being able to further profile people gives a full picture of target accounts, invaluable when in discussion with them.

Paul Newman, Sales Manager, OneStream Software

Our consultant, Nikki Brooks has a wealth of experience that has enabled her to embed herself with the OneStream team and a number of other key customers to deliver some great results.

As part of our Meet The Team series, we have delved a little further into Nikk’s background.

Following graduation, Nikki, started her working life at EDS, an HP Company, and went on very quickly to set up their graduate milk round to facilitate the recruitment of candidates into the sales department. As part of the process, Nikki steered the graduates through the process and then presented them to the relevant part of the business. This was both challenging and overwhelming as it required confidence about the candidate in question and the confidence to deliver the information about that candidate to the senior management team.

From this Nikki then moved on to professional recruiting and specifically IT recruiting where she continued to work for 10 years.

Nikki’s degree had been in Marketing so after spending 10 years in recruitment Nikki moved to PriceWaterhouse to become a Marketing Manager, where she also set up one of their branch offices.

A break of eight years then followed to raise her family. During this time Nikki’s entrepreneurial skills saw her continue to work as a self-employed consultant for local businesses supporting their marketing efforts.

Then came the opportunity to join the Next Call team. Sarah Pell, our Managing Director, had met Nikki at EDS and knew her skill set would be a great fit. After a short while, an opportunity to work on the Oracle project presented itself and Nikki was ideal and hit the ground running.

Nikki did say that although the ‘cold-calling’ at first felt forced it soon became second nature and the flexible way of working fitted well with juggling family commitments.

Since then Next Call has grown and the opportunities to work with different clients has grown with it, along with the enjoyment of working with new and different technologies and solutions.

We asked Nikki a few of our fun ‘Meet The Team’ questions to find out a bit more about what makes her tick…
